There couldn't be a better time to sign up as a Demonstrator............

Hi Ladies

Have you thought about the possibility of signing up to be a demonstrator but it has never been the right time or you don't have the time or money to invest right now?

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about the fantastic opportunity you would be missing if you wait to sign up as a new demo.

The new catalogue will be launched in the beginning of October 09 and will be filled with loads of new products and ideas and promises to be bigger and better than ever.  Stampin Up has really made a great name for itself in the UK and is growing in popularity by the day.  There will be a huge amount of excitement when the new catalogue is launched and coupled with Christmas being just two short months after its release the demand for the products will be huge.

If you sign up to be a demo NOW then you have the luxury of receiving all the products and having a chance to play with them and get familiar with  them so that you can make samples ready for the October rush.  In September, Stampin Up releases its 'last chance list' which comprises the details of all the stamp sets which will being discontinued and are only available for purchase during the month of September and once they are gone they are gone for good.  The list will be published at the beginning of September and will generate lots of orders.  You will be already up and running as a demonstrator and be familiar with all the ordering and websites etc.  I am sure that in September the demo's will be given a sneak peek of the new catalogue and have the chance to order some items before the catalogue launch so why would you want to miss this fantastic opportunity.

I have a lovely downline (team) that I have recruited and would love you to join me, here are the benefits of signing up as a demosntrator and also the benefits of signing up to be part of my team.

  • The opportunity to familiarize yourself with the catalogue, products and website so that you are ready to roll once the new catalogue is launched in October.
  • The starter kit is £139 and you receive in excess of £240 worth of goods.  You can also substitute stamp sets and some supplies for others from the catalogue of equal or lesser value.
  • You would join my small and emerging team which means I can spend as much time with you as you need until you are completely comfortable with on-line ordering, hosting a workshop (if you want to) and techniques etc.  I share all my resources, project ideas, websites, templates etc to help inspire you. I did not even stamp before I signed up with Stampin Up in Nov 08 so everything I have learned I have learned on my Stampin Up journey with the help of the fabulous products, other demonstrators and customers alike.
  • I give the ladies in my downline their own little starter kit from me which includes some helpful tools such as a paper colour swatch of the plain and patterned paper as well as a punch template and some other goodies too.  You also get access to my downline only website which we use as a forum to swap ideas and comments and I post the latest info and some great project ideas and resources.
  • You will receive the list of the 'last chance stamp set's' which are due to be discontinued from Stampin Up before it is realeased to customers and they will only be available for purcchase in the month of September whilst stocks last.
  • You will receive sneek peaks of the new catalogue and get the opportunity to order some of the new items for your own use before the new catalogue is launched to the public.
  • You will be able to prepare you Christmas card samples so that you will be off and running in time for Christmas and the catalogue launch which is undoubtedly the busiest time of the Stampin Up year.
  • You get the chance to come along to convention in November if you sign up fast before all the places are sold out.
  • You could be earning money to pay for all the items you would like to make your own Christmas stationery and gift items.
  • You can earn 15 free stamp sets in the first 6 months alone with lots of other opportunities in the year to earn freebies through various promotions. This is in addition to the commision you will earn based on the amout of product sales you make each month.

What kind of demonstrator would you be?

§  DISCOUNT DEMONSTRATOR:  Likes the idea of buying stamps for personal use at a discount and occasionally sells to friends and family.

§  SHORT-TERM DEMONSTRATOR:  Sells for a short period of time to earn a specified amount of money and stops when the goal is reached.

§  HOBBY DEMONSTRATOR:  Loves doing workshops and classes and earning extra money when it’s convenient, works a lot some months and very little or none, other months.

§  SEASONAL DEMONSTRATOR: Works hard at the business during September, October, November doing workshops for seasonal money. Maintains minimum sales during the rest of the year.

§  STAY-AT-HOME MOM DEMONSTRATOR: Wants to stay at home with her children and make some extra money working a few nights a month.

§  CAREER DEMONSTRATOR:  Views Stampin’ Up! as a viable business with long-term career potential; pursues management and wants to move up the career ladder; regularly attends Stampin’ Up! events and has developed close social relationships with other demonstrators; works at her business in a consistent manner.

As you can see, this is a flexible, fun business you can build to suit your needs and desires. Make it fit for you by using your unique talents

Happy Birthday Dom!

Dom sports day 09 029

It is my son's 13th Birthday today - YIKES - can't believe I have a teenager living with me!!  Sorry for the lack of blogging but this time of year seems more busy than Christmas!!  One more week of schools and I can kick back and enjoy the summer!  I should have some more time on my hands soon and plan to scrapbook and I have lots of layout ideas bubbling away in my subconscious.

If you in Bucks then please watch out for information regarding my craft table top sale on 12th September.  I will post more details but basically if you have any craft items that you would like to sell you can purchase a table for £5 and I will advertise the sale locally to all crafters and non-crafters alike and hope that we have a bumper day selling our unwanted supplies or items we have made and perhaps even purchase some lovely new ones.

I am frantically trying to reach my sales target for Stampin Up so that I might earn the incentive trip so if you are considering placing a Stampin Up order I wouLD LOVE to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by and stop back soon x

Martha Stewart Punches and more...............

MS Punches 043

Hardly any stamping for this card but I just had to use my Stampin Up top note die from the US.  Fingers crossed we get these gorgeous dies in the October catalogue.  Its a really simple card but I love the colours together.  I have a deluge of birthdays in the next few weeks so I will try and post the pics of the card I make.  I know I have been a little lax with updating my blog but it is an incredibly busy time of year and also I have been some what distracted with trying to get my son a school place.  We had four appeals ahead of us in the next few weeks but I am so relived and pleased to say that we had a letter today offering him a place at one of his chosen schools - whoo hoo!!  It's party time tonight in our house I can tell you, what a huge relief. So thank you for bearing with me.

Which brings me to my next announcement.  Due to increased family pressure and less and less time I have decided to stop running my Padbury crop, the email I sent is below for anyone whom I missed or my email server decided not to deliver to -

I adore the crop and you ladies and look forward to seeing you all every month but I find the selling of the supplies the side of the business that I would rather quit.  I also go to Olney and Milton Keynes once a month to sell my supplies, which means that some months I am actually working three weekends a month.  Simon (my hubby) is working away in the week and weekends are more and more precious which is why I have come to my decision.

I could stop selling supplies but I don’t think the crop would survive without the shop.  I will continue to be a Stampin Up demonstrator which means I can increase or decrease the amount of business I am doing depending on the demands of my family.  Anyone who has a Hostess Club or Marker Club organised via me will continue to receive their goods in a timely manner either by post or I will deliver them myself instead of giving them to you at the crop.

I do hope that I will be able to have some more time and that I might actually be able to scrapbook for myself again and once things settle down I hope to be able to offer some scrapbooking classes etc and also attend some classes and crops with you all as a scrapbooker and not as the crop organiser.

DIARY DATE; I am holding a craft sale in Winslow Public Hall on 12th September from 9-1.  I will be selling my supplies and Stampin Up products and you can also have a table for £5 and have the opportunity to sell any of your unwanted or unused craft/scrapbook supplies and keep the proceeds.  We all love a bargain and it is a great opportunity to recycle our unwanted products.  You can just come along and grab a bargain and watch out for the flyer coming out soon as there will also be other crafty ideas.

I hope you understand and I am sure there will be other opportunities for us all to get together in the future.

Just to confirm I will hold my last crop at Padbury on Sat 4th July and also attend with my shop at the Olney crop on Sunday 5th July.

I have just taken my last delivery of Martha stewart punches and if anyone would like one reserved to be collected at Padbury or Olney crops please drop me an email with the ones you would like.  If you wont be able to attend either crop then I can post out to you and will charge the real cost of postage which I will calculate and let you know depending on what you have ordered.  The border punches are £16.99 and the smaller hand held punches are £9.99.

MS Punches 044

The punches I have are train border, valentine lace border, embossed petals, heart confetti small punch (perfect for making your own confetti) and frond branch (love this one).  Email me for more info - michelle@cbdesign.org.uk

Enjoy the sunshine and I'll be back soon x

K Werner Colour Inspiration #52

I'm in love...................................with these colours.  Great choice Kristina!

Colour Inspiration #52 012

I used the new Petal Pizzazz stamp set from the latest UK Stampin Up mini catalogue and the Sincere Saultations stamp set for the sentiment.  Cardstock used was whisper white and sahara sand, more mustard ribbon, scallop edge border punch (of course!) and a paper piercer.  The ink colours are Stampin Up Baja Breeze, more mustard, sahara sand and so saffron.  I used the canvas stamp to get the texture in the large flower and then used a mask to make sure I didn't stamp over the top of an already stamped image.  Simple yet effective, hope you like it x

Well Done Katrina!

Large square cards 030

This is the card I sent to Katrina in my Stampin Up downline to congratulate her on signing up her first recuit Gemma.  Welcome to our team Gemma and I really hope we can meet up soon.  Don't forget to send me your address and I will send you a little something.   I try and look after my downline and as well as getting together for inspiration and support I also recently sent them this lovely gift to let them know how much I appreciate all their hard work.

Large square cards 008

DONT FORGET:  There is a special promo this month - You can sign up as a demonstrator with the new cheaper priced scrapbooking starter kit.  It only costs £99 and the items in the starter kit can be swapped for alternative items if you prefer.  You also have the same entitlements as any other demonstrator, the fact you bought the scrapbooking starter kit make no difference.  You also don't need to be a scrapbooker to buy this kit, it will just help you to sign up with the Stampin Up family for less money!  I have a starter kit of sorts of my own that I send out to any new recruits which includes information and how to get started with some great tips to save you making expensive and time consuming mistakes.  You will also receive the items shown above which include paper swatches of the cardstock and also the patterned paper as well as a punch template.  And if goes without saying that I am on the end of the telephone and email and will be happy to help and guide you if you need it.  Please contact me if you are interested as I would love to help.

Have a great weekend ladies, it is the Padbury crop tomorrow and am looking forward to seeing you all x

Wedding Card and my first blog award

Anna wedding card 002

I made this card for my friend at work who is getting married this week in Spain.  Good Luck Anna and Jesper, thinking of you.

I used an A5 square piece of craft coloured Stampin Up cardstock as my card blank.  I then double mounted the front with Whisper White and then some beautiful patterned paper from the Spiced Cider patterned paper pack which is on special offer at the moment.  If you buy 3 packs of the 12x12 patterned paper you can choose a pack of patterned paper free of charge.  I used some patterned paper I had in my ribbon jar and then stamped Anna and Jesper's initials using the Schoolbook Serif Alphabet in Basic Gray Ink.  I love this font and the font size is perfect for scrapbooking and a great way to make your own titles etc.  I used the '&' from the Mr and Mrs stamp set which is truly beautiful and stamped it using a Stampin Up Ink Pad in Sahara Sand.  I then adhered this using the Stampin dimensionals.  It was finished off with a jewel in the dot of the 'j' and also with the stick pin from the pretties kit with some beads.  I really hope they liked the card.

I have also received my first blog award, thank you Vicki for this lovely award, it is so nice to hear that people love looking at my blog.

It is my job now to choose my top 10 favourite blogs, so here goes -

KWerner Colour Inspiration #50 Marker Club, Hostess Club and Ribbon Share

042509-colors

Well it's the 50th Colour Inspiration from Kristina and I found the colours quite tricky this time.  This is my little card, quite simple really (like me some of you might say!), hope you like it!

Kwerner #50 003

Supplies Used - Stampin Up cardstock in barely banana, tempting turquoise and whisper white.  The branch is from a Stampin Up set called 'Always' and I coloured the stamp in using the Stampin Up markers in chocolate chip and tempting turquoise.  The sentiment is made using Making Memories tiny alpha stickers in white which are then coloured in with barely banana and edged in chocolate chip.  Thd red stitched ribbon I had in my ribbon tin and I am not sure from which manufacturer.

I also would like to thank all the lovely ladies that came along to my Open House on Thursday and all my downline who attended my Downline get together on Friday.  It was a busy few days but it was so nice to meet customers old and new and have a chance to chat and make some projects.  I do hope you liked your make and takess and I hoped my downline liked their goodie bags.  To my downline that could not attend, I will be posting out your bags shortly.

I offered places on my Hostess Club, Marker Club, Ribbon Share and Paper Share and still have some places available so if you would like me to email you some more information please get in touch (michelle@cbdesign.org.uk) as you can earn all the hostess benefits without having to host a workshop.  I will also include supplies to complete a card project and instructions every month to help ispire you.  Details of the ribbon share and the paper share are detailed in an older blog posts but I can send the information if you prefer.

Enjoy the sunshine and have a nice Bank Holiday.

Creating a scallop along a curved edge

It mentions on p.19 of the mini catalogue that using the Stampin Up Scallop Border Punch you can create scallops along a curved edge (as per the photo) or even on a larger circle and to ask your demonstrator how, so thanks to Gill for asking, here goes -

Scallop a thin piece of cardstock to the desired length which will fit the circumference of the shape you want to scallop.

Scallop corner 031

Then using a sharp pair of scissors cut from the straight edge up towards the valley of the scallop but NOT ALL THE WAY.  Continue until you have cut along the entire length of scallops needed. (Click the photo to see an enlargement).

Scallop corner 032

Scallop corner 034

Then twise slightly the straight edge so that it overlaps the one next to it.  The more you overlap the tighter and smaller the scallop you will get.

Scallop corner 037

Happy scalloping!!  Border punches are £10.95 and if you order between 22nd-24th April you wont have to pay shipping charges.  Call me on 07905 653353

70th Birthday Card and free P&P with any Stampin Up Order

HI girls, I am now able to post a photo of my mum's 70th Birthday card as it was her birthday celebration last week and I don't have to worry about her seeing her card on my blog!

Bulk cards 013

I used my favourite card design which is basic black card blank with a whisper white insert which was edged with the Martha Stewart Dolly Lacce punch (I am expecting a delivery of these this week and will be selling them for £15.99!)  I then used some scrap pieces of patterned paper and the nestabilites scallop die.  I had some chipboard numbers which I heat embossed on gold and I finished the card off with a piece of gold ribbon and the two lovely butterfly stamps which I also heat embossed in gold.  I love how clear and crisp the butterflies embossed which were FREE in a hostess set from the Stampin Up catalogue.  If you would like the chance to get your hands on some FREE STAMPS then why not host a workshop?

DONT FORGET - I am also offering FREE P&P on all Stampin Up orders placed between April 22nd-24th in celebration of my Open House on the 30th April. Contact me to place and order or receive more details about the Open House on michelle@cbdesign.org.uk or 07905 653353.

Thanks for looking x
